As the hotel was built before cars existed in Waterloo region, unfortunately the construction of a car park for the hotel was never considered by the original owners. Luckily we are central DTK, which means there are heaps of city parking lots close by, plus, our ambassadors offer a valet service that can’t be beat! Alternative to valet, the closest city parking we recommend is the Benton and Charles city lot.
Car parks are located: Charles & Benton Garage GPS 43.448729, -80.489324

The Walper Hotel is named after it's founder, Abel Walper. He commissioned the construction of the building (as it appears now) in 1893, following a fire that destroyed the previous hotel that stood in the same spot.
The corner of King & Queen was the first intersection of what is now Kitchener and has an incredbile history. Stay tuned for more on this!
Our Main Lobby is accessible via a ramp on Queen Street. Or if you prefer, enter via our 1 King Street entrance. At times, this entrance may be locked, but the Front Desk Team is available to meet you anytime. Just give them a call at (519) 745-4321.
