Catering

From cocktail receptions for 400 to dinners of 10, The Walper can accommodate whatever your needs. Whether it be a whimsical gala in the Ballroom, a graduation party in Barristers or an anniversary in The Oak Room, over our history, there isn’t much we haven’t done. Beautiful unique surroundings coupled with exceptional planners, fabulous food and attentive service, your event is sure to be enjoyed by all…even you, the organizer.

Our Rooms

Crystal Ballroom

Added in 1925, this elegant high-ceilinged room is distinguished by its classical architecture, beautiful hardwood flooring and rows of glittering chandeliers. With two exterior walls, the ballroom’s many windows welcome natural light and the adjoining lobby area provides the ideal setting for coffee breaks, luncheons and break-out space. Theatre style seating for up to 325.

Barrister’s Lounge

With tall windows looking down onto the corner of King and Queen streets, Barrister’s is a distinctive room with a formal bar and a faux fireplace. A unique setting for boardroom style meetings, the Barrister’s can also serve as a breakout room between seminars with theatre style seating for up to 35.

Queen Elizabeth Suite

A large spacious room with eight windows on its long wall. The Queen Elizabeth Suite’s multi-purpose lighting is adaptable to the needs of a variety of functions from seminar to classroom style setup. Theatre style seating for up to 60.

Oak Room

A particularly charming room with coffered oak paneling, five tall windows and a centerpiece fireplace. The Oak Room is a popular choice for smaller seminars and functions well for team building activities. Theatre style seating for up to 50.

Lafontaine Room

Actually two rooms, the main event space and a smaller anteroom which gives onto the main room through three sets of French doors. Newly renovated in 2011, the Lafontaine Room is the most private of the meeting spaces with ensuite bathrooms and separate service area. The smaller room increases the versatility of the larger by serving as a break-out space for seminars, making it ideal for full day meeting packages. Theatre style seating for up to 80.

Walper Gallery

Just off the Ballroom Lobby, the Walper Gallery is a medium-size, interior meeting room. Private and quiet, the Gallery is perfect for smaller meetings and seminars. Theatre style seating for up to 50.

Eleanor Roosevelt Courtyard

Once enjoyed by the famous first lady, The Eleanor Roosevelt Courtyard is a unique outdoor space ideal for intimate gatherings in the Spring, Summer or early Fall. Perfect for post-meeting cocktails or as a break-out space. Seating for up to 20 guests.
